14th Annual Blues, Berries, and Jam, a free lunchtime concert series on The New Haven Green grows from five weeks to eight weeks this summer! The concerts are Wednesdays from noon until 1:30pm, and concerts coincide with the Downtown Farmers’ Market. The public is invited to bring their lunch and enjoy the music with tables and chairs provided or bring a blanket and have a picnic. Concert Schedule

July 30 – The Mojo Boys, featuring veteran Connecticut musician Tom Knapp with soulful vocals, a serious blues harp, and a rippin’ saxophone. The Mojo Boys songs range from up-tempo jump blues to slow, sexy ballads and jazz inspired instrumentals. This is the Mojo Boys fourth Blues, Berries, and Jam appearance.

August 6  – Bluzberry Pi returns for their eleventh consecutive BBJ, a high-energy band with strong male and female vocals that capture the raw intensity of roots rock and fuses it with blues and infectious rhythms guaranteed to get your feet tapping. Bluzberry Pi’s set list is a mix of traditional blues, contemporary blues, and rhythm & blues classics. Their repertoire includes songs that date back to the Mississippi Delta in the days of Robert Johnson and Son House, and songs as contemporary as the music on the band’s original CD “Search for Something Sweet.”

August 13 – Frank Viele – Winner of Live Act of the Year for 2014 at The New England Music Awards.  Frank, a New Haven native, and his band perform throughout the country playing blues, funk, and blue-eyed soul. The concert will include music from his brand new album “Fall Your Way.”

August 20 – The Langley Brothers Project – Jerry Langley is back for his eighth Blues, Berries, and Jam appearance. For decades combinations of musical Langley family members have entertained CT.  The current six piece band has one of the funkiest rhythm sections in the business.  Their funk, Motown, R&B and blues have people on their feet and dancing from their first song to last.

August 27 – The Travis Moody Band – Travis Moody is an exceptional rock and blues guitarist known for playing his unique rock and roots arrangements as well as his own raw, heartfelt originals infused with country, rock and blues. Playing music since the age of ten this Branford, CT native has been influenced by local blues musicians who raised him immersed in the recordings of guitar greats Danny Gatton, Keith Richards and legendary blues man Howlin’ Wolf.  Travis is back for his eighth Blues, Berries, and Jam appearance.
