Description

Join us for lunch as we hear from two amazing Yale employees who will speak about how they have achieved a work-life balance while at Yale. Both will discuss how they have balanced career mobility at the University while at the same time achieving significant accomplishments outside of Yale. Come with questions!

Bethany Zemba, Assistant Dean and Chief of Staff at the School of Forestry & Environmental Studies, has been at Yale for about ten years in five different positions (all at F&ES!). While steadily taking on more responsibility at the School, she has managed to complete a Doctorate of Education in Higher Education Administration from Johnson & Wales University, and raise a young family. Bethany will talk about the challenges she has faced and the strategies she has implemented for successfully managing to find a work-life balance with so many important competing demands on her time.

Shana Schneider, Director of Communications at the Office of International Affairs, has been at Yale for about ten years. She has had positions in the Office of New Haven & State Affairs, the Yale Entrepreneurial Institute and the Office of International Affairs. Shana has achieved significant mobility while at the University, all while also launching her company FITWEEK. Shana has developed a method to include fitness in busy people’s lives, helping others achieve work-life balance as well. She will talk about the challenges she has faced and strategies she has implemented for successfully managing to find a work-life balance between her time at Yale and at FITWEEK.

Lunch will be provided.
