FLY Presents: Life After Law - How I Made the Transition From a Career in Law to Write My First Novel with Elyssa Friedland ’03.

Elyssa Friedland is a graduate of Yale College, where she served as managing editor of the Yale Daily News. After graduating from Columbia Law School and working as an associate at a major law firm, she realized she really wanted to be a writer. Prior to law school, Elyssa wrote for several publications, including Modern Bride, New York magazine, Columbia Journalism Review, CBS MarketWatch.comYale Alumni Magazine, and Your Prom. Recently, she has written for POPSUGAR, RealSimple.com and Bustle. She is a monthly contributor to Daybreak USA on USA Radio Network.

Elyssa’s debut novel, Love and Miss Communication, asks us to look up from our screens and out at the world…and to imagine what life would be like with no searches, no status updates, no texts, no Tweets, no pins, and no posts.
