Description

Written and directed by Jennifer Siebel Newsom, Miss Representation exposes how mainstream media contribute to the under-representation of women in positions of power and influence in America. The film challenges the media’s limited and often disparaging portrayals of women and girls, which make it difficult for women to achieve leadership positions and for the average woman to feel powerful.

The Junior League of Greater New Haven is proud to be hosting a local screening of Miss Representation on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the New Haven Free Public Library, in the Community Room, located at 133 Elm Street, New Haven at 5:30pm.  The showing is complementary, but please RSVP to rsvp@jlgnh.org.  After the screening, there will be community / panel discussion led by members of the community, including the Junior League of Greater New Haven.
