The Career Network for student Scientists and Postdocs at Yale (CNSPY) is pleased to announce an upcoming small group discussion on May 11th with Yale University Alumnus David W. Salzman, PhD.

Dr. Salzman finished his PhD at UConn Health Center in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. He continued pursuing academic research at Yale University as a Postdoc in the Department of Therapeutic Radiology where he contributed to multiple projects working on identifying and characterizing translational biomarkers in cancer.

Dr. Salzman then started a career in industry at Biogen. As a Scientist in the Department of Translational Sciences he was responsible for the planning, development and implemented of fit-for-purpose PD/PK and biomarker assays in support of Biogen’s ASO pipeline. He left Biogen soon after to join MiraDx as CSO, here he leads a group of researchers and has delivered 3 commercial cancer diagnostic IVDs. In 2015, he founded his own company, sRNA Dx, an early-stage diagnostic company founded on IP regarding a new method for processing and analyzing small RNA sequencing data. To date he has raised over $150K in funding for sRNA Dx, and is currently negotiating a >$8M deal with a venture capital firm.
