Judges Needed for the 2016 Connecticut History Day

January 8, 2016

Connecticut History Day is a program for students in grades 6-12 that encourages exploration of local, state, national, and world history. Each year, several hundred students pick a topic related to the annual National History Day theme, do research with an emphasis on primary source documents and then present their findings via paper, website, documentary, performance or an exhibit.  This year’s theme is “Exploration, Encounter and Exchange.

This year, Connecticut History Day needs judges! Student History Day projects are judged by teams of volunteer judges. All judging at History Day is done on a consensus basis and judges’ decisions are final. Judges are recruited from the local community; they are educators, historians, curators, video producers, writers, lawyers, and business people with a love of history and education. The New Haven regional contest will be held on March 12th, 2016 at Wilbur Cross High School.
