Hosted annually by the CTL, the Spring Teaching Forum fosters discussions about teaching and learning within the Yale community. This forum will continue campus-wide conversations about the importance of student diversity, faculty diversity, and equitable teaching practices.

8:30 - 9:00 AM: Breakfast  

9:00 - 9:20 AM: Introductory Remarks by President Peter Salovey

9:20 - 10:45 AM: Panel Discussion  

10:45 - 11:00 AM: Coffee Break  

11:00 - 12:00 PM: Keynote Address by Dr. Geoffrey Cohen

Powerful but Invisible: Social Psychological Processes that Shape Student Success Dr. Cohen is a James G. March Professor of Organizational Studies in Education and Business, and Professor in the Department of Psychology at Stanford University.  

12:00 - 1:00 PM: Lunch & Diversity Showcase

The lunchtime showcase will facilitate conversations with Yale campus groups and organizations whose missions support inclusion and equity in our community.  

1:00 - 2:30 PM: Breakout Sessions:

  • Classroom Power Dynamics in the 21st Century
  • Teaching Students with Diverse Educational Backgrounds
  • Equality, Equity, and Access in Your Classroom

2:30-3:00 PM: Closing Remarks by Dr. Scott Strobel, Deputy Provost for Teaching and Learning
