FLY is Yale University’s Official Affinity Group for Early Career Professionals
Our Vision
Future Leaders of Yale (FLY) provide a voice, resources, and support for Yale staff members in the early stages of their career who seek to develop and strengthen their impact at Yale. Through networking, professional development, personal development, mentorship, and encouraging career advancement, we are committed to supporting the recruitment, retention, and advancement of qualified professionals within Yale. By doing so, FLY will contribute to the longevity, strength, and value of the University as well as the greater New Haven community.
Recognition of challenges unique to professionals at the beginning of their career trajectory, such as starting a family, navigating a career path, and best strategies for experience/educational opportunities, are at the center of FLY’s initiatives.
Our Primary Objectives
- Develop and champion opportunities for professional development
- Cultivate strong skill sets and promote career advancement within the university
- Generate significant networking opportunities among diverse departments and rank levels
- Create and foster opportunities for mentorship with university leaders
Sponsorship
FLY receives funding from the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at Yale, and our programming is driven by a steering committee of staff members who volunteer their time and skills.
