The Working Women’s Network (WWN) and Yale University Libraries Work/Life Committee will host a Diaper & Wipes Drive from Monday, February 1 – Friday, February 12.
The Diaper and Wipes Drive will benefit New Reach, a community outreach center located in New Haven. This drive is happening because diaper need is a real problem that effects 1 in 3 poor and low-income families in the US. An adequate supply of diapers for one child can cost upwards of $900/year. Babies and toddlers go through 6-10 diapers a day but due to the cost many children go a day or longer in the same dirty diaper.
