First Peer Luncheon Provides Valuable Information for Young Professionals

November 20, 2014

FLY held its first Peer Luncheon Speaker Series yesterday. Susan West and Adriene Radcliffe presented to a very engaged audience. If you missed it, here is the video.

Adriene talked about her experiences transitioning between different careers at Yale and moving up the ladder. Some of her recommendations include being your best advocate, making yourself invaluable in your current position, and taking on and creating leadership opportunities.

The Peer Luncheon Speaker Series is designed to provide an opportunity for young professionals to learn from their peers- people who are just a few steps or years ahead of you in their career. It’s great to hear from an executive about how they got to where they are in their career, but the fact is that the world has changed and things like career mobility and workplace benefits are a lot more important than they used to be.

Please let us know if you have any ideas for events, such as topics for more peer speaker series, professional skills workshops, or anything else you’d like to learn about. Future Leaders of Yale exists to support young professionals at Yale, so we need your feedback and ideas to be successful at doing this.
