FLY’s Cinco de Mayo happy hour with CTYP was an amazing time. The patio of 116 Crown was packed with over 150 young professionals from all over the area. They were treated to the sounds of NHSO guest artist Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR), a hip hop violinist and composer with a very unique style. In addition to this fantastic performance and great company, Crown 116 provided delicious snacks. See below for the performance!
Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Mexican Army’s unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza. In the United States, Cinco de Mayo has taken on a significance beyond that in Mexico — here the date has become associated with the celebration of Mexican-American culture. In Mexico, the commemoration of the battle continues to be mostly ceremonial, such as through military parades.
