FLY Members Learn Public Speaking Skills in Lunch and Learn

November 12, 2014

Close to 50 young professionals attended FLY’s first Brown Bag Lunch and Learn last week: The Essentials of Public Speaking. Public-speaking expert and executive coach Glenn Dulko gave the talk.

The seminar successfully helped to educate FLY members on various aspects of public speaking. Glenn, founder of SpeakNaked and past president of Yale Toastmasters, had the room engaged for the full hour with his enthusiastic style of speaking. Glenn has been cultivating confidence and talent in people, and helping them share their ideas and passions for over a decade. His advice ranged from hand placement and body language, to obtaining the confidence needed to own and lead the room, and everything in between!

Here are a few helpful websites that Glenn recommended:
startwithwhy.com
craigvalentine.com
sixminutes.dlugan.com
toastmasters.org
speaknaked.com

FLY members had a lot of fun participating at this event and provided us with incredibly positive feedback. We’d like to thank everyone who made it, and for those of you who couldn’t, stay tuned for our next Lunch and Learn!
