May 18, 2016

Are you a C&T staff member, and looking for new ways to develop and advance your career? C&T staff members are entitled to 30 hours of professional development each year, so log on to TMS and register for a C&T Training and Development Program course today!

More than 60 courses will run between June 6 and July 29.

Every year the available courses get better and better; the committee and instructors use the feedback from the attendee surveys to ensure C&T staff get the most out of the offerings. This year the committee redesigned the structure to make selecting courses even easier. This summer’s courses are divided into one of four named series:

Job Training Series – courses designed to expand skills within major job families
(Example courses: Academic Systems Overview, Library 101, AP Tool Kit, as well as several courses pertaining to event planning)

Discovery and Exploration Series – courses focused on learning about new job families
(Explore Grant Processing, Tour Yale School of Forestry, Introduction to Yale College, and Introduction to Clinical Trials)

Talent Development Series – courses aimed at developing technology, communication, and problem solving skills
(Working with the Box: File Sharing and Collaboration Using Box and Dropbox, Customer Service: Everybody’s Business, The Passion Test, and two levels of Excel courses)

Career Advancement Series – courses to assist in career advancement preparation
(Writing a Winning Resume, Interviewing with Confidence, Leveraging the Power of LinkedIn, and Navigating Your Career at Yale)

Thanks to the support of the leaders of the University and Local 34, for five years this innovative program has provided C&T staff the opportunity to explore job families around campus, to network, and a chance to add attractive skills to their resume.
