Take the Lead

May 18, 2016

You’ve been to our Networking Happy Hours, our Professional Development Workshops, Guest Speaker Events, or our Community Service Activities. You’ve made or brought friends to share the experiences, and you’ve learned something useful as you navigate your career at Yale.

So what’s next? FLY needs your help to keep all these great events happening!   Step forward and take the lead on some great professional development events we have simmering: Speed Networking, Professional Headshot Day, or a “New to New Haven” lunch for new members!

FLY also wants more chances to network together, and we can’t do it without a few good leaders coordinating the nuts and bolts. Want to organize a FLY get-together during the Arts & Ideas Festival’s many free concerts on the Green, or Pizza Fest, or even a Zipline Adventure at the new IT Indoor Ropes Course? Sign up to take the lead!

If none of these sound quite like your cup of tea, you can suggest your own Peer to Peer luncheon or other event and ask FLY to support it. Don’t hesitate to ask!

As an event leader, you’ll get a checklist to help you coordinate what needs to be done, and a contact list so you know with whom to communicate. No guesswork – just leadership opportunity! Some of our committees below are looks for co-chairs. Let us know your interest.

Not ready to take the reins? Help FLY staff an upcoming event and get to know just what it takes to take the lead.  Email fly@yale.edu to let us know how you’d like to lead or if you can join us at our next Steering Committee meeting during lunch on Tuesday, June 14
