Description

Join Future Leaders of Yale and Chris George, Executive Director of IRIS - Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services, for our first immigration series event. This presentation will provide attendees with an in-depth review of the refugee resettlement program in the United States. It will include an overview of the worldwide refugee crisis and the origins of resettlement in the United States. We will also discuss the path of a refugee once they leave their homeland, the services that resettlement agencies, such as IRIS, provide to refugees and new immigrants and the realities of restarting the lives of families in the United States. There will also be statistics pertaining to the resettlement program and detailed data to show how the program, as well as the composition of the refugee population, has changed over time.
